Australia Cricket Team Super 8: Australia defeated Namibia by 9 wickets in the T20 World Cup 2024 match played at Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in Antigua on Wednesday (12 June). This is Australia's third consecutive win and with this it has become the first team to reach the Super 8 round.
Australia won by scoring 74 runs at the loss of 1 wicket in 5.4 overs. Australia has reached the second position in terms of winning a T20 World Cup match with the most number of balls remaining. Australia won this match with 86 balls remaining. For Australia, Travis Head scored unbeaten 34 runs in 17 balls, David Warner scored 20 runs in 8 balls and Mitchell Marsh scored unbeaten 18 runs in 9 balls.
David Weizey took the only wicket for Namibia.
Earlier, after losing the toss and coming to bat first, Namibia's team was all out for just 72 runs in 17 overs. Captain Gerhard Erams scored the highest 36 runs. 9 players of the team could not reach the double digit figure.
Adam Zampa bowled brilliantly for Australia and took 4 wickets for 12 runs in 4 overs. For which he was selected as the Player of the Match. Apart from this, Josh Hazlewood and Marcus Stoinis took 2-2 wickets, Nathan Ellis and Pat Cummins took 1-1 wickets.
