T20 World Cup 2024: India entered the Super 8, defeated USA by 7 wickets

 


In the 25th match of the ICC T20 World Cup 2024, India defeated USA by 7 wickets. With this, India qualified for the Super 8. This is India's third consecutive win in the tournament. They have not lost a single match yet. At the same time, this is USA's first defeat in 3 matches. In the 5th match played at Nassau County International Cricket Stadium, New York, the Indian captain ( Rohit Sharma ) won the toss and decided to bowl first. In this match, USA could not start the over on time many times and due to that India got 5 runs as penalty. 

USA batting first could make only 110 runs after losing 8 wickets in 20 overs. Nitish Kumar scored the highest number of runs from the team i.e. 27(23). In this innings, he hit 2 fours and a six. Apart from him, Steven Taylor contributed 23(30) runs. In this innings, he hit 2 sixes. Corey Anderson scored 15 runs in 12 balls with the help of 1 four and 1 six. Arshdeep Singh took the highest number of 4 wickets from India's side. Hardik Pandya took 2 wickets. Axar Patel managed to take one wicket. 

Chasing the target, India won the match by scoring 111 runs for the loss of 3 wickets in 18.2 overs. Suryakumar Yadav scored the most runs for India. He played an unbeaten half-century of 50 runs in 49 balls with the help of 2 fours and 2 sixes. Shivam Dubey played an innings of 31* runs in 35 balls with the help of 1 four and 1 six. Rishabh Pant scored 18 runs in 20 balls with the help of 1 four and 1 six. Surya and Pant added 29 (32) runs for the third wicket. Surya and Shivam added 67* (65) runs for the fourth wicket. Saurabh Netravalkar took the maximum of 2 wickets for USA. Ali Khan got one wicket.
