USA vs IRE match cancelled; Pakistan bids farewell to T20 World Cup; Host USA makes a grand entry into Super-8

 

 USA vs IRE Called Off: The 30th match of T20 World Cup 2024 between USA and Ireland has been canceled due to rain and wet out field. Host America got the benefit of this match which was washed away by rain and the team has qualified for the Super-8 with 5 points in the group stage, while the journey of Pakistan team (Pakistan Cricket Team) has stopped at the group stage. Pakistan has to play its last match against Ireland on this ground, but even after the win, Pakistan would have reached only 4 points.

Let us tell you that the match between USA and Ireland was to start at 8 o'clock as per Indian time but due to continuous rain before the match, the ground was completely wet. The umpire and match referee inspected the ground and pitch repeatedly but even after several hours, no major change was seen in the outfield of the ground. Therefore, the match referee and umpire had to jointly take the decision and cancel the match. Due to the cancellation of this match, host USA has got an entry to the Super-8.

United States of America performance in Group A

The T20 World Cup 2024 is jointly hosted by the USA and West Indies. The host USA team was part of Group A where teams from India, Pakistan, Canada and Ireland are also present. USA started its World Cup campaign with a win against Canada, after which the host team won the match tied against Pakistan in the Super Over and created a stir in the cricket world.

After that, in their third match, USA gave a tough fight to Team India but in the end Suryakumar Yadav and Shivam Dubey made an unbeaten and match-winning half-century partnership for India and snatched the match from USA. USA came to Florida ground against Ireland to play their fourth match but due to continuous rain this match was also cancelled and USA has made it to the Super-8. Along with making it to the Super-8, USA has taken direct entry in the T20 World Cup 2026.
