Shaheen Afridi Share Cryptic post: Pakistan cricket is going through a tumultuous phase since being knocked out of the first stage of the T20 World Cup 2024. Recently, the team's fast bowler Shaheen Afridi was accused of not behaving properly towards his coaches and fellow players. The team's head coach Gary Kirsten and assistant coach Azhar Mahmood also complained about this to PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi. However, no statement came from Afridi in his defense. Now he has responded to his critics in gestures by sharing a mysterious post on social media.

In fact, on July 11, the left-arm fast bowler shared a video of his net session on his official X handle. In the video, he is seen bowling. In the caption of the post, Afridi wrote, 'Lifting up.'

It is worth noting that Afridi's performance in the T20 World Cup was good. He took 5 wickets in 4 matches and during this his economy rate was 6.56. 3/22 was Afridi's best performance.

Pakistan was defeated by USA and India

In the tournament, the Babar Azam-led team suffered a crushing defeat against the USA and after that the Men in Green had to face defeat by 6 runs against their arch-rivals India. In that match, the Pakistani team failed to chase the target of 120 runs. Due to this, the 2009 champion team was eliminated from the tournament in the first stage itself. After the poor performance, the PCB sacked chief selector Wahab Riaz as well as Abdul Razzaq, who was also a member of the selection committee.

Captaincy taken away from Shaheen Afridi

After the poor performance of the Pakistan team in the World Cup 2023, Babar Azam left the captaincy of all three formats. After that Shaheen Afridi was appointed the captain of the team in the T20 format, but he was removed from the captaincy only after losing 1-4 to New Zealand. 2 months before the start of the T20 World Cup 2024, the PCB again declared Babar as the captain of the team in the limited overs format. This decision of the PCB was beyond everyone's understanding.
