Barinder Sran made his debut under the captaincy of MS Dhoni

Left-arm fast bowler Barinder Sran made his international debut against Australia in January 2016. At that time MS Dhoni used to be the captain of Team India in all three formats. However, the 31-year-old player did not get many opportunities at the international level. This is the reason why he has now decided to put an end to his career. Sran took to social media to announce his retirement from international and domestic cricket and shared some selected pictures of his career and wrote,

As I officially retire from cricket, I am deeply grateful for the journey I have had. Cricket has given me countless and incredible experiences since I switched from boxing in 2009. Fast bowling soon became my lucky charm and I got opportunities to represent prestigious IPL franchises. In 2016, I had the honour of representing Team India at the international level. Even though my international career was short, the memories made will be cherished forever. I will always be grateful to God for giving me the right coaches and management who supported me throughout my journey. Now as I begin this new chapter, I am extremely grateful for the opportunities cricket has given me. Finally, as the saying goes, 'Just like the sky, dreams too have no limits' so keep dreaming.
