2nd ODI: Captain Devine and Tahuhu shine in New Zealand Women's win as Indian Women beat India by 76 runs

 


New Zealand Women defeated Indian Women by 76 runs in the second match of the three-match ODI series with the help of captain Sophie Devine and Lea Tahuhu. With this, the series was tied at one-one. The second ODI was played at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad. 

Batting first, New Zealand Women scored 259 runs on the scoreboard after losing 9 wickets in 50 overs. Sophie Devine scored the most runs for New Zealand. He played a half-century of 79 runs in 86 balls with the help of 7 fours and a six. Suzy Bates scored a half-century of 58 runs in 70 balls with the help of 8 fours. 

Maddy Green played an innings of 42 runs in 41 balls with the help of 5 fours. Georgia Plimer played an innings of 41 runs in 50 balls with the help of 6 fours and a six. Bates and Plimer shared 87 (94) runs for the first wicket and gave the team a good start. Devine and Green added 82 (83) runs for the 5th wicket. Radha Yadav got the most 4 wickets from India Women's side. Deepti Sharma managed to take 2 wickets. One wicket each went to Saima Thakor, Priya Mishra. 

Chasing the target, the Indian women's team was bowled out for 183 in 47.1 overs. Radha Yadav got the most runs from India's side. He played an innings of 48 runs in 64 balls with the help of 5 fours. Saima Thakor contributed 29 runs in 54 balls with the help of 3 fours. Radha and Saima shared 70 (102) runs for the 9th wicket. 

Captain Harmanpreet Kaur contributed 24 runs in 35 balls with the help of one four and one six. Jemima Rodrigues scored 17 runs in 28 balls with the help of 2 fours. Tejal Hasbnis and Deepti Sharma contributed 15(23), 15(23) runs respectively. Lee Tahuhu and captain Devine took the most 3-3 wickets from the New Zealand side. Jess Kerr and Eden Carson bagged 2 wickets each.
