3 cricketers who did not achieve much success in their careers, but the world acknowledged them as coaches

Players Failed as Cricketer But Get Success as Coach: In the game of cricket, players get many opportunities to remain a part of it even after retirement. Some players become commentators and many players are seen playing an important role in the coaching staff of other teams apart from their own team. During this time, many such players have also been seen who could not show anything special as players during their career. But they achieved great success as coaches. In this article, we will mention three such players.

3. Bob Woolmer

Former late England player Bob Woolmer made his international debut in August 1972 against Australia. Woolmer's career was not very long. He said goodbye to international cricket in 1981. Woolmer played a total of 19 Tests and 6 ODIs. During this time he scored 1080 runs. At the same time, Woolmer was successful in taking 13 wickets in bowling. After retirement, Woolmer got a chance to coach South Africa and Pakistan. Woolmer also got an offer to coach England and West Indies. Under Woolmer's coaching, South Africa's performance in the ODI format became very good.

2. Mickey Arthur

Former South African cricketer Mickey Arthur is also a well-known name in the world of coaching. Very few people would know that despite having excellent statistics in domestic cricket, Arthur did not make his international debut. Arthur may not have been able to leave his mark in international cricket as a cricketer. But currently he is counted among successful coaches. Arthur has been the head coach of teams like South Africa and Pakistan. Under Arthur's coaching, Pakistan won the Champions Trophy in 2017.

1. Trevor Bayliss

Former England cricketer Trevor Bayliss has proved his mettle as a coach at the international level and in the IPL. In 2019, the England team won the ODI World Cup under the coaching of Bayliss. In the IPL, Kolkata Knight Riders also won their first two titles under the coaching of Bayliss. You will be surprised to know that Bayliss was also not successful in making his international debut.
