Viral News: An incident has come to light from a private hospital in Delhi which will shock you. Doctors removed a cockroach from the stomach of a 23-year-old man in the hospital through endoscopy. The doctors were shocked when they found a 3 cm live cockroach in the patient's small intestine. The patient was having a serious problem for two-three days due to which he was having stomach pain and difficulty in digesting food. Due to the unbearable condition, he finally sought help. He did not expect that the reason for his trouble could be a live cockroach.

complained of stomach ache

On being admitted to the hospital, the patient complained of stomach pain and indigestion for the last 2-3 days. After this, the doctor and his team advised to get an endoscopy done. During this examination, a live cockroach was found in the patient's small intestine, which was a surprise for everyone. The gastroenterology team at the hospital in Vasant Kunj, Delhi, removed the cockroach from the young man's stomach through a 10-minute endoscopic process.

How did the live cockroach reach the stomach

The doctor said that it is possible that the patient swallowed the cockroach while eating or it is also possible that the cockroach entered the patient's mouth while sleeping. If the cockroach was not removed in time, it could have caused serious and potentially fatal diseases. Therefore, the medical team immediately performed endoscopy, which saved the patient from any further problems.

How to get rid of cockroaches

The doctors used an endoscope, a flexible tube with two channels attached to it, to remove the cockroach – one for injecting air and water, and the other for suction. The team used the suction channel to trap the cockroach, and swiftly lift it out of the patient's digestive system in less than ten minutes. Explaining the severity of the case, the doctor said, "A live cockroach in the small intestine can be a life-threatening situation, so we immediately performed an endoscopy to remove it. The operation was successful in removing the 3-cm cockroach, saving the young man's life. Had it not been removed, the cockroach could have caused serious infection and potentially fatal complications.
